From Endermen to Iron Golems: The Fascinating Relationships in Minecraft

Minecraft is a sandbox game with extremely high freedom, allowing players to explore and create freely within the vast blocky world. However, because the game has so many details, almost no player can fully understand it all. As a result, many rumors have appeared. Today, we’re going to debunk these rumors and see if they are actually true.

Can Endermen Steal Things?

Some players say that blocks like diamonds and pumpkins placed in their homes have mysteriously vanished. They are very upset that their hard-earned items have disappeared without a trace and suspect that Endermen, which can carry blocks, stole them. So, can Endermen actually steal players’ supplies?

Enderman

To answer this question, we need to fully understand the habits of Endermen. Endermen are pitch-black creatures that stand 3 blocks tall. They spawn on solid blocks in light levels of 7 or less.

Interestingly, Endermen are the only creatures in the game that can spawn in all three dimensions: the Overworld, the Nether, and the End. This means that no matter where you move your home, Endermen might be nearby.

Carrying Blocks

Endermen have a very interesting characteristic: they will quietly pick up certain blocks that are nearest to them. When they die, the block they are holding will drop.

However, Endermen don’t pick up just any block. They can only carry 15 specific types: cactus, clay blocks, coarse dirt, dirt, flowers, grass blocks, TNT, sand, melons, pumpkins, podzol, mycelium, red sand, mushrooms, and netherrack. So, Endermen will not steal a player’s diamond blocks, but pumpkins could be taken by them. So, if you really lose something, you should check your friend’s house instead.

Wild Iron Golems

Because Endermen can pick up and place blocks, it is possible for them to create Iron Golems or Snow Golems. So, when you see a wild Snow Golem, don’t be surprised; it might have been created by an Enderman.

Interestingly, if an Enderman creates an Iron Golem, the Iron Golem will immediately start attacking its creator—the Enderman. That’s truly an ungrateful move.
