Can Ordinary Chests Be Used to Make Traps in Minecraft? Learn This Trick and Even Veteran Players Will Fall for It

In Minecraft, there are many strange and unusual traps that newcomers can easily fall for. But these traps rarely work on experienced veteran players. So, is there a trap that even veteran players can’t detect? Today, I’ll teach you how to make a super stealthy trap chest that even a 7-year veteran player wouldn’t notice.

Ordinary Trapped Chest

A Trapped Chest is a chest that looks almost identical to a regular chest. It can also be used to store items. However, when a player opens it, the Trapped Chest emits a redstone signal in all directions, usually used to activate various traps and TNT.

But an ordinary Trapped Chest can’t fool veteran players because, compared to a regular chest, the center of a Trapped Chest is red. The difference between the two is quite noticeable.

Trap Tutorial

Actually, we can use a regular chest to make a trap. It’s a bit more troublesome, but it leaves almost no trace. First, dig a two-block deep hole in the ground and place a Hopper at the bottom. Then, dig a one-block deep hole next to it and connect it to the surface with Rails.

At the end of the Rail on the surface, place a block and lay down Rails to connect to the surface Rail. Then, place a block over the Hopper to conceal it. For better demonstration, we’re using white concrete. In practice, it’s best for players to use blocks that match the surroundings.

Then, place a Minecart with Hopper on the track and let it slide down into the block below.

After this step is done, you can break the track and the block on the surface. Then, dig two two-block deep holes next to the block and place a Redstone Comparator and TNT in the holes. Pay attention to the placement of the Redstone Comparator.

Next, we can cover the Comparator and TNT with blocks, and then place a regular chest on top of the Hopper. This completes our trap.

As soon as we put an item into the chest, the item will fall into the Hopper below, activating the TNT. If you think the explosion effect isn’t strong enough, you can add a few more TNT underground.

Have you adventurers learned how to do it? Why not hurry and try using this trick to “greet” your friends.
