In the quest to find the fastest means of transportation in Minecraft, I’ve never slacked off! Previously, I introduced a “curved rail” method that is extremely fast and relatively material-efficient—even faster than laying a row of powered rails!

However, many adventurers still feel it’s not enough and ask if there are even faster means of transportation in Minecraft.
Well, after searching day and night, I finally found several methods that combine game mechanics to push for the highest speeds. Let’s take a look!
This is a tug-of-war between minecarts and boats!

01、Boating on Ice
First up is the boat contestant, appearing with its good partner, blue ice!
When players walk or sprint on ice, they experience a speed-boosting effect. Similarly, this effect also applies to boats!

Moreover, among the three types of ice blocks—ice, packed ice, and blue ice—there are differences in acceleration!
Through experimentation, it was found that boating on the fastest blue ice is significantly quicker than the previously mentioned “curved rail” method!

02、The Revenge of the Curved Rail
Did everyone think the curved rail would just give up like that?!
Of course not! I’ve always believed that this curved rail method, derived from game mechanics, has great potential. So, after further research, a new “curved rail” design was discovered!

As shown in the image, place curved rails alternately in opposite directions. Then, place pistons every other block alongside the rails, with Redstone repeaters behind the pistons. Connect them with buttons and Redstone, and the speed can be doubled once more!

If the blocks beneath the rails are replaced with ice, the speed can be increased even further!
So, folks, are you satisfied with this speed?
03、Maglev (Magnetic Levitation) Train
The boat contestant launches a final “checkmate” counterattack!
Guess what happens when speed-boosting factors like soul sand, fence gates, and water flow are combined?

Without further ado, let’s give it a try!
First, lay soul sand at the very bottom and place water on top of the soul sand.

Fill the boat channel with open fence gates, and place ladders and water flow alongside to help propel the boat forward.

Finally, let’s look at the finished product!

In this setup, the boat’s speed can reach a terrifying level. Moreover, compared to the older “sonic boat” technique, this self-levitating train doesn’t require a running start for acceleration—it moves extremely fast right from the beginning.
