In Minecraft, there are various ancient structures: the three temples, abandoned mineshafts, strange igloos. Players have always speculated about who built these structures. In fact, we can infer from these buildings and various items in the game that a very advanced prehistoric civilization once existed in Minecraft.
Skeleton
In the game, there is a type of monster that is very unconventional and terrifying in appearance: the Skeleton. They are nothing but bones, yet they can move freely. They are clearly not normal creatures.
Monsters like Skeletons are highly likely to have been caused by a prehistoric civilization. Terrible alchemy allowed deceased creatures to continue existing in a miraculous form.

In the game, besides monsters, even decorative paintings often feature eerie skeletons. Three out of the 26 painting motifs are related to skeletons.
These skeleton paintings are likely relics left behind by a prehistoric civilization. Perhaps skeletons represented a special kind of power to that civilization, which is why they were recorded in paintings.
Structures
If the first two points are merely speculation, then the ancient structures in the game are strong evidence of a prehistoric civilization. Numerous abandoned mineshafts hidden deep underground show that, like our modern civilization, the prehistoric one also required large amounts of ore.
Besides abandoned mineshafts, there are also numerous temples. These temples contain various intricate and dangerous traps; one wrong move and you could lose your life there.
Fossils
During his years of prospecting, Steve occasionally discovers strange fossils deep underground. Fossils are the preserved remains of ancient organisms buried in the ground. This fully proves that a prehistoric civilization did indeed exist.
However, if such huge fossils could also come to life like skeletons, what a terrifying existence that would be. Probably even ten Steves might not be able to defeat it.
