TNT is one of the most popular blocks in Minecraft.
Not only is it convenient for cobblestone farming or mountain blasting, but its (interesting mechanics) can also be used to prank your friends.
Today, let’s explore some little-known facts about TNT together~

01、Remote Ignition
As many know, projectiles that pass through lava or fire gain a flame effect. Therefore, using flaming arrows or snowballs that have passed through fire to hit TNT can successfully ignite it!

02、Ignition with a Flaming Sword
The key element for igniting TNT is fire. In the Bedrock Edition, weapons enchanted with Flame can right-click to ignite TNT, while this is not possible in the Java Edition.

03、Ignition by Punching
In very, very ancient versions of the game, players spawned with ten TNT, and the way to ignite it was simply to left-click it once.
However, in the current version, you can still obtain TNT that explodes upon being punched by using commands. Perfect for pranking your buddies~

04、A Gift for the End
TNT can be ignited via minecarts and activator rails. Meanwhile, coral fans have the property of refreshing TNT when pushed. By combining these two mechanics, we can create an infinite TNT bomber, as shown in the image!

If we aim this bomber at the End, wouldn’t it be sending a “big gift” across the void to the creatures there? (laughs)

05、Mischief-maker’s Playstyle
TNT has a small quirk: in Adventure Mode, while flint and steel cannot freely ignite most blocks, they can still ignite TNT. So, server admins, take note! When disabling block usage, make sure these two aren’t available at the same time!

06、Exploding Underwater
It’s common knowledge in Minecraft that water flow can minimize explosion damage. Even high-damage explosives like TNT become tame kittens underwater, unable to destroy blocks.

If there are desired ores underwater, or if you must destroy something submerged, try placing a gravity-affected block (like sand, gravel, or an anvil) on top of the TNT before igniting it. The falling block will occupy the same space as the ignited TNT.
The game will then (judge) the TNT as not being in water, allowing it to destroy underwater blocks!

07、Exploding on Land
TNT explosions on land are powerful and easily destroy structures. If you accidentally ignite TNT at home and have no good way to avoid the blast, try placing an anvil on top of the TNT. This minimizes both its damage and explosion radius.

If you can’t find an anvil or aren’t quick enough, place a solid block between yourself and the TNT. Without armor, you’ll only lose half a heart~

08、Farming Music Discs
If a Skeleton’s arrow is on fire, it can also detonate TNT. We can use this fact to obtain(a large number) of music discs from Creepers!

Alright, that’s all for today’s(science popularization) on Minecraft TNT trivia!
